"This is my Mom's recipe. It is Great. I'm from Southern Indiana. We put pasta in our chilie. Some call it chilie soup. I'm not sure of how many servings. It depends on what size bowl you want. You can freeze this also."

ingredients

  • 1 12 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans spicy chili beans
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 4 (15 ounce) cans water
  • 1 package chili sauce mix (The size of a powered gravy mix)
  • 13 package Bloomers chile spice (Not sure if it is available worldwide. Just add your favorite)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • salt & pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • 1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti

directions

  • Brown ground chuck, onion, salt& pepper.
  • Drain fat.
  • In a large pot place chile beans, water, tomatoe sauce, more salt& pepper, chile powder, sugar, The chile spice pkgs, redpepper flakes.
  • Stir.
  • Start to boil.
  • Add ground chuck.
  • Let simmer 1hr.
  • to 1 1/2hrs.
  • Cook spaghetti 3/4 box.
  • Place in cold water.
  • Add to chile after the cook time to your liking.
  • I think Chile is always best the second day.

  2. so glad i found this. Quick, easy, and really tasty. I substituted it with a chick-pea, because there was not a chili beans. And I ate with French bread because the time when I boiled spaghetti was not able to wait. YUM!! This chili is really delicious. I think that the second day becomes more and more delicious about it so that you say. I thank your and your mother. Thanks, again.
     
  3. I had this chile from the original source. I must say, It is the BEST chili I've ever eaten. I wish I had some right now too! It may sound like a strange recipe to some of you, but I guarantee you, once you've tried it, you'll never think of chili the same way again! I've cooked it myself many times. Wonderful comfort food!
