- 2 lbs ground beef
- 4 medium onions, chopped
- 56 ounces whole tomatoes
- 30 ounces dark red kidney beans
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1⁄2 tablespoon ground cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1⁄2 tablespoon salt
- 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
directions
- Fry ground beef with onion in an 8 qt pot over medium heat.
- stirring occasonally, until ground beef is brown.
- Stir in all the ingredients.
- Break up the tomatoes gentley (I use a potatoes masher).
- Heat to a boil and then reduce heat.
- Simmer uncovered for 1.25 hours.
