- 1 lb ground beef round
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 4 large sweet peppers
- 3 jalapeno peppers
- 2 large onions
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 large tomatoes
- 2 cups zucchini
- 3 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 2 (15 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans
- 5 tablespoons chili powder (to taste)
directions
- Cut and remove seeds from jalapeno peppers and chop onions and sweet peppers.Chop zucchini. Saute all in the olive oil in a large kettle medium to low heat until tender crisp.
- In a separate frying pan mix the ground turkey and beef together and cook until brown. Mix into the veggie mixture.
- Peel and coarsely chop tomatoes and add.
- Rinse kidney beans and add.
- Mix in the rest of the ingredients.
- Bring to boil while stirring then reduce to simmer and let cook down 45 mins to an hour over low heat stirring occasionally.
