  • In a Dutch oven, cook the stew meat, ground beef, onions and garlic in the olive oil til the beef is cooked, then drain. Return mixture to Dutch oven and add the rest of the ingredients and cook over low heat until mixture is thoroughly heated, the consistency is where you like it, and the flavors blend.

  1. There are those out there who've told me that, "No, you really don't like chili," but that's not the case! I DO like chili, just not spicy hot, & so, I did a bit of adjusting when making this recipe! I used just 1 tbsp of chili powder, only 2 tsp of hot sauce, but 1/2 tsp of cayenne, & NO habanero pepper! I also doubled the amount of kidney beans! AND we still enjoyed this chili! Also had more than enough for the 2 of us, so some of it was frozen for future enjoyment! I particularly liked the combo of meats you used! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this Spring's round of Pick A Chef]

Homebrewer first and foremost. Starting to see what I can do with the spent grains after - breads, pizza dough, dog treats, etc. Love to grill. Love to make pies.
