Directions

  1. Beat brown sugar, peanut butter and margarine until fluffy.
  2. Blend in water, egg and vanilla.
  3. Add oatmeal, flour and baking soda; mix well.
  4. Chill for 1 hour and shape into 1 inch balls.
  5. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Use bottom of glass, dipped in sugar and press flat.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees or until golden brown- Cool on wire rack.
  8. For frosting, melt chocolate chips and shortening until smooth.
  9. Top cookie with chocolate.
  10. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired.
  11. Chill until set.
