  • For the sauce:

  • Microwave butter in microwave. Add 1 teaspoon flour and salt.
  • Gradually stir in whipping cream.
  • Add sugar and brown sugar and mix well.
  • Cook on medium setting until mixture boils and thickens.
  • Boil 1 minute and set aside.
  • For the pie:.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar, salt, butter, corn syrup, and eggs. Beat well.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup of the filling mixture into caramel sauce and blend well. Set aside.
  • Stir pecans and chocolate into remaining filling and blend well.
  • Pour into crust.
  • Pour caramel sauce evenly over filling.
  • Bake at 375 for 45 to 55 minutes or until outer edge is set and center is partially set.
  • Cool on wire rack 1 hour and refrigerate.
  • Serve with whipped cream.
