  1. My son's assessment - "Mom, these are too good." That pretty much says it all. Simple and delicious. Thanks for sharing! Update: These have become my "go-to" brownies. I make them whenever I need a dessert on short notice. I've used all types of chips and they're all great. Note: I ALWAYS double this recipe and make it in a 9x13 pan.

  2. These are definitely chocolate chip brownies, let's not kid ourselves here! They are wonderful. If you're looking for a fudgy brownie, this is not it. If you're looking for fluffy, brownie-like cookies, then this is it! Doubling the recipe worked perfectly for a 9x13 pan. I was a bit worried at first since the layer of batter seemed thick and didn't fill much of the pan, but they end up coming out just right height-wise. I followed this recipe exactly. Thanks

  3. Super delicious! I didn't change a thing except to double the recipe....Thanks

  4. Wow, loved this recipe. So easy to throw together, I had it in the oven in about 5 minutes, no kidding. Loved the small batch, with just my husband and myself to enjoy them. Definite keeper, I plan to play around a bit with it....add nuts, toffee chips, etc. Great stuff. Thanks so much Musical Joy for sharing this recipe!

Tweaks

  1. Very tasty! I used dark chocolate chips and Smart Balance instead of butter. I also only cooked for 20 minutes because we like ours very soft and chewy. I will definitely make this again.

I'm a high school music teacher, turned elementary music teacher, who is also a mom. My evenings are busy -- I teach piano and voice lessons one evening a week, direct the youth choir at our church on another night, and sing with a professional chamber choir here in Pittsburgh on yet another night, so I'm always looking for quick-fix meals. I love to bake too, much to the delight of my daughters, but not my husband, who loves sweets, but is very health-conscious! It would be great to have a week of free time to make all the delicious recipes I find here on 'Zaar. Not sure who I'd find to help me eat them, but I'd do it anyway!
