Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

"What could be better than a fudgey brownie topped with chocolate chip cookie dough! Don't worry, there are no eggs in the cookie dough, but you won't miss them. After presenting my chocolate chip cookie dough loving neighbour with a plate of these, her only response was "Heavenly!""

  1. What an interesting combination! At first, my family and I were hesitant to try this recipe because of the odd mixture of brownie and cookie dough. But when we had our first taste, we loved it! It's such a creative blend of flavors and textures. This fun recipe is a keeper. And for those who love cookie dough, you WILL love this recipe!

  2. I really wanted to love this, but it was the first time I brought a dessert to a gathering and people didn't want to take home with them! (And I'm known for my baking so this was a bit let down) Some comments were that it was dry, gritty and I was even asked what it was supposed to be! You should know what a brownie is by taste! I have to say, I wasn't impressed myself and didn't even finish my piece. Great idea, just needs some tweaking. I think I'll make my regular brownie recipe next time and maybe add more butter and sugar to the topping.

  3. Sorry Carrie Ann, but we had to throw out the whole batch! I followed the recipe exactly as written, and it might just be my family's taste buds! We thought the brownies weren't chocolatey/fudgey enough, and the cookie dough was pretty bland tasting. Might try this again with a different brownie mix, and double the topping recipe, adding more butter and either salted butter or a dash of salt...

  4. I didn't use the brownie recipe as specified because reviews have shown some complaints, but I still used the cookie dough recipe. It was pretty good overall! I used dark brown sugar, and the results came out a bit darker. I should try baking it with the cookie dough layer, and see what happens! :P

  5. I was drawn to this recipe because of its uniqueness! I was a little disappointed with the results but think I can tweak it to my tastes. The brownie layer isn't fudgey like I prefer my brownies but really nice & moist. I found the cookie dough layer to be lacking something - my idea is to modify it to be more like a frosting - no flour, extra butter, maybe a little bit of icing sugar with the brown sugar... I also think I would prefer mini chocolate chips for ease in chewing the cold brownies.
