“I love cookies and having 2 little ones in the house, they make a great sweet treat for them. I came up with these when I was out of raisins but had some chocolate covered ones. I just improvised and they came out soooooooo awesome. Sometimes I will add peanut butter to them too. They are chewy and just killer!!!! Of course, I have refined the recipe some and use chocolate chips now, but whatever.”

Ingredients Nutrition
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup raisins
- 1⁄2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
- Heat oven to 375.
- Cream together sugars, butter and shortening.
- Add vanilla and eggs, beat together until you have a grainy paste.
- Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to sugar mixture.
- Stir in raisins and chocolate chips.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie pan.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
