- 2 1⁄3 cups sugar
- 4 medium eggs
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3⁄4 cup oil
- 3⁄4 cup cocoa powder
- 3 1⁄2 cups flour
- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- powdered sugar
directions
- Mix sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Add oil and cocoa powder.
- Add flour and baking powder.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Roll into 1" balls.
- Roll in powdered sugar.
- Place on baking paper on a cookie sheet.
- Bake on 350 for about 12 minutes. They will come out soft and let them cool. Then use a spatula to lift them from the paper. If they are picked up when warm, the middle will stick to the paper.

Tried this recipe last night... step 2 says add oil, but there is no oil listed in the ingredients. Should have looked closer before I started I guess. I looked at other similar recipes and decided to go with 1/2 cup of oil, as most listed that amount. The cookies were dry and bland. Would not recommend, would not make again.
