  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • On waxed paper,s ift flour, baking powder and soda.
  • In large bowl, with wooden spoon or electric mixer, beat butter with brown sugar, chcoolate, egg and vanilla until well blended.
  • At low speed, beat in flour mixture (in fourths) alternately with milk (in thirds), beginning and ending with flour mixture; beat just until combined.
  • Drop batter, 1/2 cup for each, onto a lightly greased cookie sheet, two or three to a sheet. Flatten slightly to make a 5-inch round.
  • Bake 12 minutes or just until top springs back when lightly presed with fingertip.
  • Let cookies cool on wire rack.
  • Frost with chocolate frosting. Store in tin box.
  • Frosting:

  • in small bowl, combine sugar, cream and vanilla. Beat with spoon until smooth.

OK lets see...My name is Diane and I'm married to a wonderful guy -- going on 20 years. We have 2 kids -- 1 daughter and 1 son a 70lb german shepard, a fat cat and a very snobby cat! I work a couple of days a week in the Loop and the rest of my time is spent sitting at the kids sporting events. I love to try new recipes. Luckily, hubby will try just about anything. The kids aren't so eager about that, but are generally very good sports about it!
