Chocolate Fudge Slice

"A quick and easy slice recipe that my mother gave to me many years ago. I made it without the nuts and it worked out fine. If you want to include the nuts I would suggest that peanuts or walnuts would work really well."

  1. I don't understand yet how 'slice' translates in the US. I was expecting a brownie type product but it's cake. It's tasty but a bit dry. I added toasted coconut & left out the nuts as dd doesn't care for them. Instead of frosting, I sprinkled confectioners sugar on top. Made for Aussie Swap 3/12 - I'm sorry to be late with the review. Thank you!

  2. KiwiKathy- I am not giving this recipe stars today as it seems that maybe there might be a missing or changed ingredient. I made these for today's treat and just did not care for them. I love chocoalte so this seemed right up our alley. The texture was too hard for us. I expected a fudgey bar cookie but that is not what is is. It seemd overly dry when put together and then dry when trying to eat them without the frosting. The frosting really did not do much for the dryness and just too hard to eat texture. I will watch to see if perhaps the ingredient list is off since the change or perhaps some adjustments need to be made. Then of course I will try again.
