  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Beat butter and sugars in large bowl; mix until fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, beating well.
  4. Add baking soda and flour, beat well.
  5. Stir 1 cup of chocolate and nuts.
  6. Press mixture in a non greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  7. Sprinkly leftover 3/4 cup chips on top.
  8. Bake for 22-25 minutes, until golden.
  9. Let cool in pan.
  10. Prepare vanilla icing, then drizzle over top.
  11. Let glaze set before cutting into bars.
  12. Icing: Combine confectioners' sugar with milk and vanilla extract.
  13. Mix until smooth. This is about 1/2 cup of icing.
