  1. I made the recipe with the ingredients described (no substitutions), despite thinking that 1 oz isn't a lot of chocolate for a brownie. I was right - in the finished product you wouldn't know it was there. This was fine as a cake (pecans being the strongest flavour), but it didn't have the texture of a brownie. I don't usually put toppings on brownies because they just don't need it, but I did for this one out of curiosity (and because I love malt flavour), but it was too sweet for my taste. My teeth are still aching!

  2. These are AMAZING brownies! I baked them this evening for a small party we are having at home. I did not do the icing. The brownies taste very nice on their own. I'll bet with the icing, they get even more sinful! These are good. I substituted the butter with cooking oil and the unsweetened chocolate with a 21gms. bar of Kit Kat chocolate. I used Nesquik milk powder{chocolate flavour} for the malted milk powder. As I did not have pecans on hand, nor walnuts to substitute, I went without them. These brownies took 30 minutes to bake at 180C in my oven that had been pre-heated at 180C. I'll make these again, that's definite!!! Thanks alot for sharing the recipe.
