Chocolate Reindeer

"These are a favorite of my children's class rooms. The batter can of course be used with many different cookie cutters. I believe this came from TOH. Preparation time includes chilling. ***Note: In regards to first review, you do indeed need 2 eggs, not 1 and 1 1/2 tsp vanilla, not 1 and I have changed the ingredients to say so"

  1. I made these to take to my children's playgroup, and they went down ok,but not as well as I expected. A very simple cookie recipe, that's great for novice cooks. Thanks Sam.Made for PRMR.

  2. These were quite enjoyable for basic chocolate cookies. I might have given five stars if they were prepared with nuts, since I thought those would be perfect in these. Thanks for posting!

  3. I made these yesterday and I found the dough to be quite crumbly and a little difficult to work with. I think this recipe needs more moisture. My cookies turned out dry and when I bit into them they just sort of turned into crumbs in my mouth. If I made these again I would either use two eggs instead of one and 2 Tsp. of vanilla or I'd cut the flour back and use about 2 1/4 cups at the most. The cookies tasted ok but it just seemed like something was "off" with them. I'm sorry but I just didn't care for these.
