Chocolate Tea Bread

"This is from a Taste of Home magazine. This is different from the other chocolate tea breads b/c it has a glaze. I haven't made it yet."

  • In a bowl, combine applesauce, butter, eggs, water and sugar.
  • Beat on low speed for 30 seconds.
  • Combine dry ingredients.
  • Add to applesauce mixture.
  • Beat on low for 30 seconds.
  • Increase speed to high and beat for 2 1/2 minutes.
  • Scrape bowl often.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  • Pour into greased 9X5X3 loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes or til a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Combine glaze ingredients.
  • Mix until smooth.
  • Drizzle over cooled bread.
