  • In a stand up mixer, beat together butter and sugar.
  • Add in eggs and vanilla and mix until well mixed.
  • In a bowl sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Carefully mix the dry ingredients into the wet.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and toffee pieces.
  • Place the dough in a bowl, cover, and chill in the freezer for about 20 minutes or in the refrigerator for an hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Drop 1 rounded tablespoon of cookie dough for each cookie on a cookie sheet. Leave about 2 inches between each cookie.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Immediately after the cookies come out of the oven, sprinkle them with a .
