Christmas Wreath Cookies

"Such a simple and yummy Christmas cookie, loved by all ages! The added almond and vanilla extracts give the original recipe a special flavor that make them irresitable. If you want, you could leave out the green food coloring (or add a different color) and press the combined ingredients into your favorite cookie cutters and make stars, snowmen, etc...so fun for kids to help you make!"

  • Melt butter, add marshmallows. When mixture is smooth, add extracts, coloring, and cereal. Form into wreath shapes, and decorate with red cinnamon imperial candies while mixture is still warm. *Make sure to butter your hands before shaping wreaths, as the mixture is sticky. I've found it easier to use a large scoop or large cooking spoon to drop the mixture onto waxed paper, and then use my index finger to make a hole in the middle while pressing the rest of the mixture into a wreath shape. Let sit until you can lift the whole cookie without it falling apart -- or enjoy them warm and sticky and claim that they just didn't "turn out" ;) The yield depends entirely on how big you make your cookies.
