  1. Good combination for oatmeal. I doubled the oatmeal and water, then left the other ingredients the same. I especially enjoyed the vanilla addition!

  2. I made this for breakfast today, using about half milk and half water. I doubled the oatmeal itself but not the sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla and added just a pinch of cinnamon. It was pretty good, but I think it was missing something. Next time, if I have it, I think honey would be a really good addition to this.

  3. Tasty and easy oatmeal! I doubled the oatmeal and water but left the other ingredients the same. I really liked the addition of the vanilla. Thanks for posting the recipe!

  4. What a nice combination of flavors. I recently started adding peanut butter to my oatmeal once in awhile, and there is another thing I hadn't thought to add - vanilla. I doubled the recipe, using only one (packed) Tablespoon of brown sugar. It should keep me full for the whole morning. Great recipe.

  5. Yummy! I don't know why I have never tried peanut butter in my oatmeal, but this is delicious! I used raw milk instead of water and cooked about 30 seconds more since I like mine thicker. I will make this again for sure. Thank you

My Family and I moved to South Africa at the beginning of 2007 to be missionaries. My Husband is the Pastor of a church in Eden Park, a township in the Jo'burg area. We are having a great time. My kids love it (3 of them, 1 born here). We have got to do many exciting things( pet lion cubs, feed giraffes, eat Zebra(gross!)and other meats(Warthog was surprisingly the best, go figure) and swim on a beach with penguins, to name a few). I have always loved to bake but just got into cooking since moving over here. There were a lot of things I couldn't find over here(and still can't) that we were wanting so I started searching for good recipes for everything from sausage, salad dressing and root beer,to enchilada sauce, Macayo's baja sauce(posted), and Applebees hot wings! A fellow missionary turned me on to this site and My husband got me a membership for this last birthday. I am loving it!
