Chuy's Creamy Jalapeno Dip

"This stuff is habit-forming! This is the best copycat recipe I've found, as it uses homemade ranch dressing; bottled ranch just doesn't taste very good, in this dip."

  1. LOVE Chuy's Creamy Jalopeno Dip and have been looking for the recipe for a long time. This is the closest one I've found, BUT its missing garlic. I'm surprised nobody has said that yet?! I eat Chuy's often & I'm quite positive there is garlic in this and when I added some garlic powder to this recipe it made it SOOOO much better! Thanks for the recipe!

  2. just add half a squeezed lime and it's perrrrfect!

  3. This recipe calls for WAY too much cilantro. Don't get me wrong, i love cilantro, but i used half the amount the recipe calls for and my dip came out green and heavy on the cilantro. It was still really good and my family loved it, it's just not like the creamy jalapeno stuff like Chuy's. I'm calling this spicy cilantro dip. I recommend if you make this, add the cilantro last to make sure it doesnt over power it. I think ill add garlic next time, too.

  4. I tried this and LOVED it. Honestly, I like it better than Chuys original recipe. Maybe because it was spicier than the original. Then I made it again but forgot to buy the powder ranch and only had bottled ranch......was NOT the same. Though people who ate it didn't know the difference and they loved it. Oh yeah, I loathe cilantro with every fiber of my being, so I personally have chosen to omit it.

  5. Love this... It was always my Fav when i lived in Houston

I'm a retired teacher, now, whose children have grown up, and abandoned me! ? Rather than cooking huge portions, I'm on the hunt for cooking-for-one ideas, or meals that can be tweaked, to make eating leftovers more varied and exciting. I have a pressure cooker, which I love, and I've been making yogurt, eggs, ribs, etc, in that. I still love to cook, and read (and, pin) recipes; but, my focus has changed, from when I first joined this site, in 2007.
