Cinnamon Apple Waffles

"From Darlene Kossman. Has grated apple in the batter. It only makes 4 waffles so double the recipe; really good."

  1. These were really good. I sauteed apple slice in cinnamon and brown sugar and poured over the top of the waffles.... hubby's request. Could use a bit more flour as I thought the batter was a bit too thin. Still a very good recipe and I will make again. May even grate the apples next time

  2. A great waffle treat! Loved the addition of the apple to the recipe. I received 5 nice Belgium sized waffles from my waffle iron. Loved the cinnamon flavor that shone in this recipe. I topped with just a bit of butter and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Nothing else is really needed. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

  3. They taste amazing, but are too soft because of the grated apple. I squeezed off as much of the juice as possible before I added them to the batter, but it didn't help as much as I'd hoped. I also added a lot more cinnamon to suit our tastes. Next time I'm going to try dicing the apples. I may also dehydrate some of the apples from our farm and put those in as well to see if that helps with the texture.

  4. These taste great but they won't stay crispy long. I cooked them as long as I could. I made these directed.

  5. Our family really enjoyed these. We doubled the recipe, but did just a couple things differently. I didn't separate the eggs, because honestly, I didn't want to do all the work or have another bowl to wash lol. turned out just fine. Also, added a little more cinnamon to the mix and diced the apples instead of grating them.
