Cinnamon Bread

"I made this for my families big breakfast sunday. We thought it tasted very yummy. I have cut the recipe in half and baked it in a 8x8-inch cake pan. I got this recipe from The chef @ ww recipes.com. This is really a coffee cake, but we've always called it cinnamon bread. We don't know where the recipe came from originally, but my mom used to make it every Sunday morning. My sister and I would wake up to the smell of the cinnamon bread baking and the sound of some glorious church choir on a record album that my Dad was playing loudly. I have tried to continue the tradition and it is easily one of my kids' favorites...we usually finish the whole pan by the time Sunday night rolls around. The best part of it is the top, which gets a little crunchy...all of us slice of the top of our piece of cinnamon bread and save it for last! Be sure and eat it right out of the oven--that's when it's best--and the top doesn't stay crunchy once it cools off."

  1. Great cake, I decided to make this recipe because it sounded interesting but after looking at the recipe I made some changes. I thought 3 cups of sugar was a bit much and changed it to 2 cups. I also added 2 tps. of vanilla to the batter. I also changed the directions a little I beat the eggs first then added the oil and beat that a little then added the milk and vanilla. I then mixed all the dry ingrediants in a separate bowl first then added it to the wet. I baked this as directed a got a lovely and tasty coffee cake. Thank you for the recipe.
