“This is delicious! Really great recipe. Got it from a friend and tried it. The results were great. Wrap them in cookie sheets after. Preparation Time does not include the time needed to have the dough double in size.”

Directions

  1. Mix the flour, salt, and bread yeast in a bowl. Then use a bigger bowl to mix the milk, eggs, and butter.
  2. Combine the two mixtures and knead the dough.
  3. Have the dough rest and double in size. Cover with plastic wrap and set in warm place - I left the dough by the fire for 5 hours or so.
  4. When dough has doubled, cover and let rest on a floured surface for 10 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix the packed brown sugar and powdered cinnamon.
  6. Roll out the dough into a 16" x 21" rectangle. Spread 1/3 cup softened butter on dough surface. Then sprinkle the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture all over the buttered dough.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly so that you end up with a 21" roll (longer rather than fatter). Pinch dough edge into roll.
  8. Cut roll into 12 equal portions. Place rolls in 9"x 13" casserole dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes (I left them overnight in the fridge covered).
  9. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 mins until the tops are lightly browned.
  10. Mix all the ingredients for the topping together on high speed for 1-2 minutes. Spread on the buns and enjoy.
