Cinnamon Extract

"A no brainer.. so why didn't I think of it? Use a tight fitting 1-cup glass jar taller than the cinnamon sticks. Use in addition to or in place of vanilla."

  1. Great idea, I didn't think of it either, even though I have been doing it with vanilla for years. I used a whole bottle of vodka, minus about 2/3 cup, to give enough room to put in the cinnamon sticks. I bought half a pound of cinnamon sticks, which were not so expensive at the Middle Eastern market and used 40 in the bottle of vodka. I have enough left for another bottle though with the quantity I bought. It will be nice in certain recipes, and as a gift in smaller glass bottles. Smells great, looks kind of pretty too.

AND that is the end of this. If the phone doesn't ring? It's me. If you are looking to ask me a question? I'm not here. I won't answer. I do not assure you that the ingredients, amounts or even the directions in any recipe under my two accounts are correct due to the bad directional pointer in the database that is causing problems with the amounts or ingredients. I will also NOT assure you they are correct when the site claims they are fixed. Use at your own risk. They will be correct on my site. End of story. Sigh..
