Cinnamon Flop

"This is an eggless coffecake-like cake. My Great Grandma Nell Kulp passed this depression era recipe down to my Grandmother, and then she passed it on to my Mom. Now I am passing it on to the rest of you."

directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix the sugar and milk together.
  • Mix the flour and baking powder together. Sive if you would like.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet 1/4 cup at a time to help prevent lumps. The batter should be fairly smooth.
  • Once mixed set aside and lightly butter your baking dish, this helps to prevent the cake from sticking to the sides and bottom of the dish.
  • Pour the batter into the baking dish. Place the cubed butter on the top of the batter evenly, then sprinkle with the cinnamon.
  • Optional toppings: Maple syrup, nuts, nutmeg, chocolate chips, etc.

While life throws its twists and turns I still find time to cook, bake, and try new recipes. I love the joy that cooking brings to those who eat what I prepare. Thank you to those who have tried a recipe, or two, of mine. Half the fun of cooking/baking is trying new things! I appreciate your comments and critiques as well.
