I have passed this recipe out for the last 25 years! It is a huge favorite in my family. I misplaced my handwritten copy that was given to me all those years ago and was so excited to see the exact recipe here! I have substituted apple butter and applesauce for the apple jelly with the same great results. And I ALWAYS add 1 to 2 t. vanilla extract to the oatmeal mixture, and the icing. My most requested bar recipe?
