  • 2 12 cups ripe cherries, pitted (or use plums, red grapes, blueberries, pears, apples, raspberries, or combination, peeled and sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons kirsch (other other cherry brandy)
  • 1 lemon, zest of, grated
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 12 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 14 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 12 cup flour

  • Toss fruit with the 2 tablespoons of sugar and kirsch and let marinade for 30 minutes.
  • Lightly butter and sugar (or use PAM) a 9 inch round baking dish, and arrange fruit and its juices on the bottom of the pan.
  • In the bowl of a food processor fitted with the metal blade, process sugar and lemon zest, then add all other ingredients. Pour batter over the fruit.
  • Bake until lightly browned and puffy, about 30 to 40 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
