- 1 (12 ounce) can pie filling (your choice of filling)
- 1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix or (18 ounce) box vanilla cake mix
- 1⁄2 cup butter (if you want it to be dairy free then use blue bonnet stick butter)
directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Place the pie filling in a small pan evenly.
- Sprinkle cake mix over the pie filling evenly (use only half of the cake mix and cover all of the pie filling).
- Cut the stick butter into thin square pieces and place evenly on the top of the cake mix.
- Place pan in the oven on 350 for approximately 20 minutes until it looks finished.
- Enjoy!

I had many many more berries than cake mix, so I did a modified version of this recipe: <br/>I used fresh huckleberries, about two-deep in a 9x13 pan. Then I added about 2/3 box of yellow cake mix. On top of that I added a mixture of 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and equal parts of the remaining cake mix and Bisquick. I baked it at 350 for about 40 minutes until the top browned and the berry juice bubbled through the cracks. It was a big hit at a family gathering.
