Coca-Cola

"Top Secret Recipe Version, from Todd Wilbur. He says the secret ingredient is cinnamon (cassia) oil, and he says it can be found at health stores with the lemon and orange oils. He also specifies that it important to only use one drop of the cinnamon oil because it is very strong. The NoDoz should be crushed with a mortar and pestle or in a bowl using the back of a spoon. Do not substitute Vivarin for the NoDoz because it tastes bitter. I haven't made this so if you make it please post a review and let us know how it turned out. PLEASE NOTE, YOU WILL NEED 8 NODOZ TABLETS (200 MG EACH). THIS IS NOT IN THE INGREDIENT LIST. I was unable to add it to the ingredient list due to recipezaar not recognizing it."

  • Add the colors to the syrup then cover it and chill it for several hours until cold.
  • To make the soda, add 1/4 cup of cold syrup to 1 cup of cold soda water. Stir gently, drop in some ice, and serve.

  1. Loved it. Made it both with and without the Nodoz.

  2. Blech! Just finished this recipe. It tastes nothing like Coke. The flavor is more like one of those cheap supermarket generic brands. The signature Coke bite is not there and the flavor is a bit overwhelmed by the cassia.

I am finally learning how to cook thanks to recipezaar! I haven't really made up any of my own recipes yet, but I have made a lot of the ones posted on here. Asian food is my favorite thing to make, and I also enjoy making desserts (especially cheesecake). I am amazed by how easy it has been for me to learn how to cook. I always used to think cooking was so hard and time-consuming, but I learned that once you have all the ingredients and proper equipment on hand it's not very difficult. I used to only cook stuff in the microwave or in the crockpot, but since I joined recipezaar I have been working my way up to more and more challenging recipes.
