  1. Combine melted butter & cocoa, blend in Applesauce.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in large bowl.
  3. Blend cocoa mixture and egg until dry ingredients are moistened.
  4. Stir in nuts.
  5. Spread in greased 9 inch square pan.
  6. Bake at 350* for 35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pan.
