  1. Sift 1 1/2°C flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Mix egg and milk.
  4. Add all at once to flour mixture.
  5. Stir just until moistened.
  6. Combine brown sugar, nuts, 1 T.
  7. flour, cinnamon and butter.
  8. Place half of the batter in greased or paper lined muffin pans.
  9. Sprinkle nut mixture evenly over each one.
  10. Top with remaining batter.
  11. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes.
