  • Do not preheat oven!
  • Mix Crisco and butter; add sugar and eggs, one at a time, and milk.
  • Beat after each ingredient and egg is added.
  • Add flour, baking powder and salt to mixture.
  • Add flavoring.
  • Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350°.

  1. This is a very good, moist and easy pound cake. I used almond extract as my flavoring of choice and it is sooo tasty! It was a hit this morning for breakfast and I am sure it won't last long around here. Thanks for a keeper!

  1. Where do you get my mom's special recipe? I thought it was a family secret! Lol. Great with a mix of vanilla extract, lemon zest and almond extract. Sometimes i uss cake flour for a lighter crumb.
     
  2. Leave in oven 10 minutes longer.

I am a stay at home mom with 3 grown sons, ages 30, 27, and 25 and our 11 year old grandson whom we adopted. Talk about starting over!!! I love to cook and like trying new recipes. I bake occasionally now, only because my family at home is now much smaller!! I really like cookbooks and have a large assortment. I had every treatment option available at the time ~ chemo, high dose chemo, analogous stem cell transplant and radiation.
