This is very similar to a recipe I make. However, I add a little shredded cheese to the mixture (queso blanco) and I don't boil the water first, I just dump in in together. Also, soften the butter a bit before you put it in. I use the corn meal in a yellow package made by P.A.N. I spray Pam on a skillet and cook them a few minutes on each side until they are hard and slightly golden brown. I then place a slice of shredded queso blanco and top. Serve just that way, or add jelly, or add some green Colombian aji sauce. YUM!!!

Retired world traveler. I have collected recipes from many of the places I have been. Not the recipes from the local 5 star restaraunts but the cuisine that the REAL people eat! Lots of interesting stuff out there people eat!
Love to try out those recipes I have collected now that I have the time. Only problem is finding the original ingredients.
