  • Drain all beans well.
  • Rinse the kidney beans.
  • Combine vegetable oil, cider vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Pour dressing mixture over beans in a bowl and toss well.
  • Let marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Serve.

  1. I couldn't find individual 20-ounce sized cans of wax beans so I used three 14.5 ounce cans Del Monte Cut Green and Wax Beans as the source of both. I feel 3/4 cup sugar is much too much, but that's just my preference! I used only 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, which was just right for me. The dressing was still bland, so I increased the pepper to 1 teaspoon, added 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. The end result was a 5-star salad, but only because of the adjustments, in my opinion.
