  1. I gave this three stars because it's a good beginning. I used a combination of a few of these recipes and my wife swore I got it from Chuy's. 1 package Ranch dip seasoning, 16 oz sour cream, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/4 cup buttermilk (optional), 1/2 cup jalapeño (finely chop), 1/3 cup cilantro (finely chop), 2 cloves garlic (finely chop). First, finely chop cilantro, garlic, jalapeño. I do NOT blend it because it turns too green. You'll notice at Chuy's that it is white with green parts. Then mix the rest in. The buttermilk thins it out and gives it some tang (I personally like it thicker for a dip instead of a dressing). I noticed I didn't put any salt and pepper in -- I'm kind of surprised by that. Thanks for everyone who submitted ratings for your help.

  2. This dip is really great! I have now tried most of the variations and all are good. (They are all fairly similar.) However, I decided that I like butter milk in it, and the lemon juice too. Although, I like lime juice better. I was not as crazy about the cream cheese in it - it was still good though. Here is also, a variant I made: 8oz sour cream 6 pickled jalapenos (diced) ranch seasoning to taste 1 Tbsp dried fried garlic (crumbled) 1 Tbsp dried fried onion (crumbled) fresh cilantro to taste 1/2 can Rotel tomatoes and green chillies (well drained) 2 tsp lime juice 2 tsp jalapeno vinegar 1/4 cup buttermilk (optional) Thanks for this recipe and all the variants! I make it often!

  3. I havent tried this recipe but I wanted to share the recipe that I have. I use it often and everyone loves it. Use the ranch dressing packet (not the pre-made dressing, just the seasoning), 16 oz sour cream, pickled jalapenos and cilantro. Just blend everything together. I just add the jalapenos and cilantro until it tastes right. Usually 1/3 cup of jalapenos at least. Enjoy!

  4. This recipe was very good. I liked the tomatoes, but here is my version of the Chuy's favorite. 1 Cup Ranch Dressing 1 Cup Cream Cheese 1 Cup Sour Cream 1/4 Cup Fresh Jalapeno 2 Tbsp Fresh Cilantro 1 Diced Serrano Pepper Whip Ranch, Cream Cheese, and Sour Cream until smooth. Let stand until room temperature. Add remainder of ingredients. Enjoy!

  5. I give this 3 stars because Chuy's dip doesn't have tomatoes in it. I altered this quite a bit, but the result was a dip *much* closer to Chuy's version. Here are the changes I made: 1.5 cups Ranch dressing (instead of 3 cups), added 1/2 cup sour cream (really takes away some of that Ranch tang), 4 Tbsp cilantro (instead of 3 Tbsp), added 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp garlic, and a squirt of lemon juice. This was *really* close to the real thing!
