  1. I absolutely love this frosting and I've been making it since I was a kid, however I've noticed in the last 5 years or so every single time I make it, after I whip the corn syrup and the egg white, it's great it looks great it tastes great and I put it on the cake and within hours it starts to separate. If I leave it in the bowl the corn syrup sings to the bottom and there's almost nothing left of the frosting. Somebody help! I don't want to quit making this icing because it is my favorite butt it's just not holding any more

  1. I had to rate this recipe. Actually was going to post it myself then checked to see if it was here. This is the simplest frosting to make and if you are n a hurry it is fast and easy. Add some food coloring to suit the holiday or theme and you have a winner! Excellent recipe. Mymom used this for almost all her baking and I use it in mine for school bake sales, irthday parties for students, etc. The frosting lasts a long time looking good. (I know this because I take it in at 7 am and B-day parties are after lunch at 1:15 pm, frosting still peaked and fresh tasting)
