  1. Thanks for the recipe, its alot cheaper making your own than it is to buy, easy to make and great results. Many thanks.

  2. What ever you call it...simple syrup....corn syrup, in a country where you don't have the luxury of buying corn syrup this is the perfect solution. I would only add it's best not to stir and instead swirl the mixture...you also don't want the sugar water to caramelize or get brown, if you do might as well add some cream and butter to make caramel! I find 20 minutes is usually enough time, you just want it thick like corn syrup. I've made marshmallows and fudge using this corn syrup recipe. They were both big hits!

  3. With an allergy to corn products, I often use this. I use a true simple syrup with 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Thanks!

With 5 kids and a hungry husband to feed, I'm always looking for good, budget friendly meals. We generally eat meals that use little meat (I try to use 1 lb or less per dinner, and none the rest of day), so that means lots of casseroles and meats with gravy. I enjoy baking, so bread recipes and desserts tend to get saved more frequently than others. I'm especially partial to chocolate and lemon (although not together).
