  1. Making great country-style potatoes has always eluded me. Still, I plugged on, thinking one day I'd find the recipe that would work for me. THIS one is "it"; the potatoes turned out magnificent and we were fighting over the last scraps from the pan. I think the two secrets are the addition of water and using the seasoned salt. I had no Lawry's on hand so I used this recipe to make it: Recipe #328540 . Thanks SO much for sharing this recipe; it will be our classic breakfast potato recipe from now on!!!

  2. These potatoes are good for any meal not just breakfast! I've used this recipe for years and use russet potatoes as I don't keep the red ones on hand. Sometimes I add a little bacon grease when frying. Yum! Seems like I got my original recipe from a recipe book featuring country singers. Thanks for sharing.

  3. These turned out really well. Crispy and the water at end make them tender.

  4. Very good. I didn't peel the potatoes as we like it with the skin on. Thanks!!!

  5. The only reason I tried this recipe was because everyone gave it 5 stars. The pessimist I am, it made me very curious how something can be that delicious using so few ingredients. So glad I was proven wrong because these were the best breakfast potatoes I've ever tasted. The only thing I did differently was keep the skin on (mostly out of laziness but I do like red potatoes with the skin...) and I made 5 potatoes instead of 2. Very happy with that decision because between me and my husband, the pan was scraped clean. The seasoning salt is definitely the magic ingredient.

  1. Delicious! I'm pregnant and have been craving country potatoes. This recipe was PERFECT! Instead of red, I used regular potatoes and I also used a little extra oil so I ended up not having to add water. These turned out so great! DH couldn't stop ranting and raving about them! Yum!
