  • In a large saucepan, add first 8 ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Lower heat and simmer for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add meatballs.
  • Simmer and occasionlly stir for 20 additional minutes.
  • Serve over hot cooked spaghetti.

  2. Personally, I really liked this sauce. But my husband said next time, he'd put some red wine and brown sugar to counter the acidity.

  4. This sauce was perfect with black pepper meatballs #42771. It was hard not to add onion and garlic which is a normal sauce preparation and I'm glad I followed your recipe as is. I used 1 can diced tomatoes and chopped some frozen whole ones I had in the freezer.
