  1. Fantastically simple to make. We own an organic farm and produce flax. I attend lots of business/food expos to promote our flax. I made this spread for our last event and rave reviews. The only change I made was to dip each spread cracker with toasted whole flax seed. My sample table was the most visited table at the food expo! Thanks for a simple, great way to showcase my product!

  2. This was a pretty darn good appetizer, especially if you consider the simple ingredients and time to make. I needed a last minute appetizer and had everything for this. I spooned the cream cheese into a oversized coffee cup lined with plastic, sprinkled the flax seeds all over, then gathered up the plastic and twisted it to make a nice ball. (I made just one ball). Unwrapped it after chilling and gently pressed seeds into any gaps. Served with crackers, celery and carrot sticks, the celery sticks seemed to be the favorite. The teenagers would not touch it, but a number of the adults enjoyed it.

  3. This easy to make cheese ball is absolutely one of the best I've ever tasted. It makes for a wow with guests - and makes for great presentation. Has guests asking if it was from a speciality shop - than of course come the recipe requests. Don't let the simple ingredients and ease of preparation have you over look this awesome cheese ball. February 2009 - have been making this cheese ball since 2004, recently found a bottle of mixed peppercorns - made one ball using the cracked pepper - the mixed for the other. Same great taste - one recipe made for looking like I had made two. Thank you Darlene - it's a winner big time at our house and one of the first to come to mind when planning for special occasions.

  4. Excellent cheeseball! I just made it for Xmas tomorrow, and have had a devil of a time keeping my fingers from "testing" it! I just know it will be well received. Thank you!

  5. I made this with philidelphia cream cheese and it was just yummy!! Only difference was i bought the flax seed(what we call linseed)already ground. I lightly toasted it in a dry frypan...i found the flax/linseed sunk in a little(not quite an even coat)so next time i will refridgerate the already prepared cheese balls for a while...prior to coating in the flax/linseed.Will also try whole flax/linseed when im finished with the ground stuff!!!definately a hit!!!!!!Will make for all occasions..very quick, very yummy!!!Enjoy!!!P.S. I used McCormicks seasons all as Mrs Dash is not available in Australia...The same thing I'm sure!!!
