Cranberry Sweet Potatoes

"I got this recipe with my new crockpot. I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes, but this changed my mind. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. You can add more cranberries if desired."

  1. I received this recipe with my crockpot too. I'm so glad that you posted it so I won't lose it! I like to substitute Grand Marnier for the orange juice and I skip the oil and use 4 T. butter. The sweet potatoes and dried cranberries are a delicious combination!

  2. This is a great alternative to traditional sweet potatoes at Thanksgiving. I will never take up valuable oven room with the candied version again! I added a dash of nutmeg, ginger, and cloves, along with the cinnamon. I also added a little more orange juice and brown sugar to make more syrup. To speed things up next time, I might parboil the potatoes before putting them in the crock pot.

  3. Oh, this was awesome! I love sweet potatoes and cranberries, but would never have thought to put them together. It is a great combination with the orange juice, etc -- everything balances very nicely! It went well with my Bishop's Brisket and I'm planning to have it again with a nice pork roast or tenderloin. Thanks for posting another keeper! Made for PAC - Spring 2009
