Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 for shiny metal or glass pan or 325 for dark or nonstick pan.
  2. Beat cake mix, water, oil, and 3 eggs in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar.
  4. Add egg and salt and mix well.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Fill paper-lined muffin tins 1/2 full with batter.
  7. Drop 1 rounded teaspoon cream filling on each cupcake.
  8. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
