Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 cups half-and-half cream
  • 13 cup cream of wheat
  • 1 tablespoon oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • flavoring of choice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon extract or 1 teaspoon almond extract or 1 teaspoon maple extract or 1 teaspoon rum extract, etc

Directions

  1. All ingredients may be adjusted to taste.
  2. Put cream, cereals, butter and honey into a pot.
  3. Because we are using pure cream we must Slowly bring the mixture to a very low simmer. ie just a few bubbles. In the beginning use a medium heat setting to get mix warmer faster. As the mix heats up turned the heat down. I usually touch the heat adjust knob 3 times ending on the lowest setting.
  4. Stir CONSTANTLY!
  5. At about 4 minutes, when you see the mix start to thicken add the honey. If using cinnamon or another powder type flavor add at this time also.
  6. When mix has reach your desired thickness turn off heat and stir in liquid type flavorings.
  7. Serve with a pat of butter on top and just enough cream to go around the bowl's rim.
