Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta

"This is a fast and easy dish that does not require whipping cream for the sauce. I made it with skim milk and it turned out just fine. We use a lot a cajun spice so adjust to your tastes."

  1. how great is this recipe! we were wanting something different with our shrimp, spicy, cajun, but still light, and this really did the trick. we used 1 cup fat free half and half, and 1/2 cup milk, as we felt it didn't need to be as creamy. other than that we used a tbsp butter instead of 1/4 cup butter, and used 1 tbsp (we eyed it) of EVOO. It was awesome and we'll definitely make again. thanks!

  2. Very easy and tasty meal!!! Glad I read reviews and cut cajun seasoning down to 1 tbsp instead of 2, it was definitely salty and spicy enough. I also used 1 tbsp. of butter and 1 of olive oil with 1% milk...turned out perfect for our taste, thanks for sharing!!!!

  3. This was really good but the Cajan seasoning was a little too salty and not quite spicy enough, I will try it again.

  4. Good! The cajun seasoning I used made it too salty and spicy for my taste so I think next time I will use 1 T. black pepper instead of that. I also used skim milk and light margarine. <br/>I served with salad and Bisquick cheddar biscuits. Thanks!!

  5. I thought this was a really great, easy recipe! I followed directions exactly, and found it just a little spicy for my and my kids tastes. Next time (and there WILL be a next time) I will half the cajun seasoning and leave the can out to sprinkle on top if we want it a bit more spicy. Love that it was so quick and simple to cook!

Tweaks

  1. Just got finished eating this although I made a few revisions as my husband does not care for a lot of spice. I used half n half instead of milk as that is what I had on hand and used two cloves of garlic and a little minced onion. I also had scallops and crab on hand which I subbed for the shrimp, however I found the dish to be a little bland on flavors other than the cajun spice.
