  1. I have been trying for years to make cole slaw like this. Creamy, sweet, with just a slight twang. This is so easy to make, it's ridiculous. This has now become our family cole slaw recipe. Great with BBQ ribs, fried chicken, etc. Thanks Inez.

  2. This is one of the best coleslaws I have ever eaten. It was a breeze to make, and the perfect compliment to my pork bbq. I did omit the celery seeds because I don't like them.

  3. Just the way we like it! Great coleslaw.Made it just the way you have it here, but added 2 cloves of chopped garlic.Served with BBQ hamburgers.Wonderful, Thanks.

  4. Wonderful flavor. Not to sour, just enough sweet. This was the frist time I have made coleslaw, and it was amazed at how EASY it was. Thanks a bunch!

  5. Delicious! I made this as dirceted, except substituted with reduced fat and fat free dairy products. This is now my family's favorite coleslaw! Thanks!

Tweaks

  1. I swapped 2 tablespoons of honey for the sugar.

  2. I tripled the recipe but kept the vinegar at 2 tbs.

  3. I added 1/4 tsp of poppy seeds

  4. Not quite what I was expecting, but that may have been my fault. Subbed 1/8 tsp celery salt for the celery seed and the celery flavor was a bit pronounced. There was way too much mayo for me and the sour cream tangy. Good news is everyone else liked it.

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
