I don't think I have had margarine in the house in thirty years..So will use real Butter, prob 3/4 stick. ..did anyone do the same? I need extra creamy M & C as I like to put the dish full into my smoker and finish cooking.. I will add Panko mixed with the remaining butter sprinkled on top before smoking. Dry mustard is a must. and maybe a combo of different cheeses?Â

Great recipe! I didn't precook my shells, I just mixed them in. everything came out really creamy just how i wanted it too. It took almost 3 hours to cook, and left me plenty of time to make my potato salad. Very, very tasty. I really recommend this one! I did only use one egg and, about a cup less cheese. loved the half and half in there, made it taste perfect! Thanks to Dee for a winner! ;)Â

OMG this recipe is the BOMB!! This is the only way I ever make mac and cheese anymore. My husband goes bonkers when I make it. It is SOOOOO good. I don't make it too often bc of the high calories but I don't want to change it or lighten it in any way. Why mess with perfection? Thank you SO much for this awesome recipe!!!Â
