Creamy Oatmeal

- 5 1⁄4 cups milk
- 3 cups quick oatmeal
- 1⁄4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 dash salt
- cinnamon, for spinkling
directions
- Soak the oatmeal with 2 1/4 cups of the milk in a bowl for several minutes.
- In a saucepan, heat the remaining 3 cups of milk to almost boiling point.
- Add the oatmeal mixture, the sugar, and the salt to the heated milk and stir well. Continue to stir the oatmeal until it is cooked and the mixture is thick, approximately 7 -10 minutes. (The oatmeal will hold its shape for a couple of seconds).
- Pour into serving dishes and sprinkle with cinnamon while hot.
- Makes 5 cups.
