Creamy Peas and Pancetta

"This is a very quick and tasty side dish to make that will go down well with the whole family. I love fresh peas just boiled in some water and served with a little butter and mint, but my son is not as keen, so I came up with this so he would eat them and enjoy them. You can make this with frozen or fresh peas just make sure you cook the peas first if fresh."

  1. DH loves peas, ham, and fettucini alfredo sauce so knew he would love this. I did use frozen peas and did not add the mint or the cayenne because he isnt to fond of them. He asked me to make this again for him soon! Made and reviewed for the Australia/NewZealand Forum's Recipe Swap #42.

  2. Made this for my kids. They didn't like BUT DH and I devoured it. Left out the mint (didn't have any). I also left out the cayenne with the hopes my kids were going to eat it.

  3. Nothing like a fast-&-easy AND tasty side like this one! Made this just as written, although I'm not a big fan of mint so sprinkled some just for my other half to enjoy! A most satisfying way to prepare this great veggie! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my group mates in the Aus/NZ Recipe Swap #30]

  4. Oh my, I loved this, and I'm NOT going to think about my hips..... So simple but rich and with buckets of flavour, I was so grateful that the family didn't quite finish off the dish, so I could finish it off myself in the kitchen!!! I love peas at the best of times and this is the Very best of times! I could eat this every night. I did use bacon, we don't really get pancetta here, so I used around 125 gr chopped bacon. Excellent... yum! Made for Aus/NZ swap#30
