  • 18 cup buttermilk, at room temperature

  • Heat whipping cream in a small saucepan to 85 degrees F.
  • Remove from heat and add the buttermilk.
  • Pour into a jar with a lid.
  • Close lid and let stand in a warm place at room temperature for 36 hours.
  • Then, store in the refrigerator.
