  • In a large pot, cook and stir onion, peppers and garlic in butter over low heat until onions are tender (about 5 minutes). Add remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, reduce heat. Simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally ( for more flavor or spice, add more pepper sauce or chili powder). Serve over bed of rice with lemon as garnish.
